Zoeview sits about 25 minutes south of Hobart by car. The town grew around a timber mill in the 1920s and still has that compact, walkable feel: a general store, a primary school, two cafés and a pub that does a decent parma on Thursdays.
Blocks are generous. Most residential lots sit between 700 and 1,200 square metres, which means actual backyards, room for a shed, and space between you and the neighbours. Water comes from the local dam; NBN fixed wireless covers most of the township.
Buyers in the past two years have split roughly evenly between young families moving out of Hobart for affordability, retirees downsizing from the mainland, and hobby farmers looking for a few acres with a liveable house already on them.
The surrounding hills are popular with mountain bikers and trail runners. A sealed loop track starts behind the community hall and winds through state forest for about 14 kilometres before looping back. The Huon River is a 15-minute drive for fishing and kayaking.
